In January 2022 Cella opened its doors and I was invited to exhibit my art in a solo exhibition titled I AM CALIFORNIA - This was followed by a second solo exhibit in 2023 titled EMERGE

For me this was an opportunity to be part of the connection of histories, both past and present in the beautiful and inspired re-purposing of the adobe buildings and gardens.

I have worked with the earth my entire life; as a boy gardening, then as an apprentice of horticulture, eventually leading to founding a landscape architecture studio.

All the time sketching, painting, and sculpting as a part of practice.

In early 2026 there was a discussion about another solo exhibit with Ben Spungin, founding partner/chef at Alta and Cella. In the initial planning I had the vision to build on this history with paintings that were a continuous thread in our evolution together, as the food, gardens, and art have been fully embraced by the community. The space both inside and outside, is there for the people to take part in this beautiful history.

Here in my third exhibit I am sharing my evolution with new paintings from the I AM CALIFORNIA series of paintings that has continued to develop within me since 2015.
